Canvas Prints
Canvas prints are images that are printed onto canvas which is then attached by stretching to a frame so that it can be displayed.
The canvas gives the print a warmer and more authentic look and feel than just printing onto a smooth paper, making canvas prints particularly popular for reproductions of famous artwork.
It is common for the images of the canvas prints to extend around the sides of the frames - this is called a gallery wrap and creates a pleasant aesthetic.
The canvas prints are commonly printed using large format printers which use a cotton or synthetic canvas material with the image being transferred via either dye sublimation or inkjet technology.
As canvas prints can be printed from any image, they are also a popular way to create artwork from iconic images such as comic book covers and album sleeve art as well as allowing for personal images and amateur photography to be transferred to a canvas print for display.
